The short version: Bufferfly does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data. Your clipboard history lives entirely on your device. We have no servers storing your information.
Buffertino (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Bufferfly macOS application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do and don't handle when you use Bufferfly.
Bufferfly is a 100% local application. We do not collect:
All clipboard history is stored locally in a SwiftData database on your Mac. This data never leaves your device. Bufferfly does not use iCloud sync, network sync, or any cloud service. Clearing your clipboard history within the app permanently removes all items from your machine.
When you purchase a license, your license key is verified locally using cryptographic signature checking. No network request is made to our servers to verify your license. Your purchase is processed by our payment provider (Paddle), who operates under their own privacy policy.
Bufferfly requires macOS Accessibility permissions to paste clipboard items into other applications. This permission is granted locally through System Settings and is never transmitted externally. We access only the minimum permissions required for pasting.
We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Sentry, or any other third-party analytics, error reporting, or tracking service within the application.
Our website may use standard server logs (IP addresses, user agents) for operational purposes. We do not use tracking pixels or cross-site tracking. Any analytics we use are privacy-preserving and aggregate-only.
Bufferfly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app or on this website. Continued use of Bufferfly after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
